Jaya Reed was chosen for the summer camp The Future Congress of Medical Leaders in Boston, Massachusetts. The Future Congress of Medical Leaders was created to gather many of the country’s finest high school students who want a future career in medicine. The National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists single out these students for special recognition and mentorship. The students chosen will get to meet winners of the Nobel Prize, top medical school deans, Ivy League leaders, leaders of medicine, patients of cutting-edge medicine and others. The camp will be held June 25 to June 27, 2018. Reed got accepted because she filled out medical online college applications. Her high grade point average got her chosen.
She does not know what she will do at the camp, but she is excited to see what activities and events she will get to experience, and meet successful people in the medical field and connect with others who want to be in the medical field as well. Reed feels honored and grateful to have been chosen because she got picked out of a lot of other candidates. She would like to finish high school and go to college in a medical field. After college she would like to become a cardiothoracic surgeon. Reed wants to become a doctor to help people.
