Sechrest Wins State Championship; Hart and Materkoski Reach Podium

Three Bellaire Middle School Track and Field eighth graders competed in the State Championships this past Saturday in Lancaster.  

Eighth grader Colt Secrest won the the discus competition and broke the meet record by over 7 feet with a throw of 166 feet, 8 inches. Classmate Nick Materkoski reached the podium by finishing 6th place with a throw of 140 feet, 1 inch.

On the girls side, Katelyn Hart went to a tie breaker after throwing 107 feet on her first throw.  She finished 2nd overall missing first by only 2 feet.

Congratulations to these student-athletes and thanks for representing Bellaire in great fashion.
